Perkins County can bank on big fun at fair time PDF Print E-mail

Get prepared to experience  a week of jubilation when Perkins County comes together to celebrate 125 years during the fair July 23-28.
There will be 4-H shows and exhibits, food and competitions. There will be games and entertainment, dances, bingo and talent.
The county’s residents are eagerly awaiting the celebration of 125 years of history, and the fair board, along with a 125th committee, have put together a slate of memorable events for all ages. Come enjoy the festivities!
July 23-28
Some of the Events:
• Tuesday, July 24: 8:30 a.m.: Horse Show.
• Wednesday, July 25:
8:30 a.m.-noon open class floral entries
9-11 a.m. 4-H static entries and open class static entries
11:30 a.m. 4-H small animal, poultry and rabbit show
5:30 p.m. 4-H public style show at the dance hall building
5-9 p.m. 4-H livestock check-in
At dusk: movie, fairgrounds
• Thursday, July 26:
6 a.m. pancake breakfast by Perkins County Chamber of Commerce
1 p.m. 4-H rocket launch
1:30 p.m. livestock judging contest
4 p.m. 4-H beef show
5 p.m. one night of free mechanical bull riding
5-10 p.m. inflatable carnival/fair board gives back! (bring in two canned good items and bounce for free! All cans will be donated to the Perkins County Food Pantry)
6 p.m. melodrama: “The Very Un-Merry Adventures of Robin Hood”—sponsored by the 125th Committee.
6:30-10:30 p.m. 4-H teens bingo
7 p.m.  talent show
• Friday, July 27:
8 a.m.  4-H swine, sheep, goat show
10 a.m. Garden Club public tea/Exhibit bldg. open
1 p.m. livestock obstacle course
2 p.m. kids races/sidewalk chalk
2 p.m. livestock round robin sponsored by Aurora Coop
3 p.m. tractor pedal pull
3 p.m. mud volleyball
5-10 p.m. Inflatable carnival/all ages
5 p.m mechanical bull
5-7:30 p.m. mutton bustin’/junior rodeo
6:30-10:30 p.m.4-H Teens bingo
7-9 p.m. Christopher Carter - mentalist

7 a.m. 5 or 10 K fun run
