Wurst on spring honor roll at UW
The University of Wyoming lists 39 students from Nebraska on the 2012 spring semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Roll. Among those students is Joanna Wurst.
The honor roll consists of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade point average.
To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.
Midland honors 2012 graduates
Midland University honored the graduates of 2012 on Saturday, May 26. Midland alumnus, the Rev. Dr. William C. Nelsen, former president of Augustana College and longtime president of Scholarship America, delivered the keynote address to the 230 new graduates. The commencement ceremony culminated with awarding of bachelor and masters degrees to the accomplished group.
Kaitlyn Meyer of Grant received her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education.
Midland University’s Commencement 2012 was held in Midland’s Event Center and recognized students who have fully completed the undergraduate or graduate coursework for their specific field of study. The class of 2012 is the 129th wave of Midland graduates in the institution’s history.
Area students receive scholarships
Scholarship support for students in the University of Nebraska at Kearney College of Business and Technology has set an all-time record, according to Dr. Timothy Burkink, CBT dean.
“Thanks to the generosity of many donors,” Dean Burkink said, “the College of Business and Technology was able to award nearly $210,000 in scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year. This is an increase of nearly 20 percent over the prior year and a new record. This support is an investment in the future of our students to help them realize their full potential.”

Hall Scholarship $743.
Wickizer among grads on UNO list
Annika Wickizer of Wallace was among 2,186 students named to the Dean’s List at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) for the spring 2012 semester.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a G.P.A. of 3.5 or better for courses taken at UNO during the semester.
