American Legion Auxiliary meets PDF Print E-mail

Unit #40 of the American Legion auxiliary held its May meeting at the American Legion Hall on May 8 with 11 members present. The meeting opened with an opening prayer by Chaplain Clem, the flag salute and reciting of the Preamble by the group.
Roll call of officers and the reading of the previous meeting minutes was given by Secretary Jean. The minutes were approved as read and the treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Trudy. She reported we lost two more members, so we now have a membership of 60.
President Loretta reported that Poppy Day will be the 24th and we will meet at 9 a.m. at the senior center to receive the poppies to sell. Those selling from our group will be Trudy, Loretta, Jean, Renee and Estaline. A motion was made by Renee and seconded by Delores to serve coffee and donuts to the public after the Memorial Day service at the cemetery on the 28th. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trudy to amend the constitution because of the increase in dues for the senior and junior members, motion carried.

President Loretta closed the meeting and a closing prayer was given by Chaplain Clem.
A lunch of donuts and ice cream and coffee was then served by Trudy and Delores.
Our next meeting will be at the Legion Hall on June 12 with election of officers.
