PC golfers finish fourth at C-5 Districts |

By Jan Rahn Managing Editor The Perkins County Plainsmen golf team was edged out of a state berth by nine strokes during the C-5 District meet held Monday at West Wind in Ogallala. Individually, Caleb Breazeale came the closest to qualifying in the top 10. Breazeale shot a 41-43 for 16th place. Capturing the title for the top three teams going to state was Kimball with a team score of 322 followed by other qualifying teams of Valentine with 325 and North Platte St. Pat’s with 333. Although Perkins County golfers did not qualify for state, they were 21 strokes better than last year during district playoffs, indicating the tough competition they faced on Monday. Other district competition included Southern Valley, Bayard, Chase County, Mitchell, Gordon-Rushville, Hershey, Bridgeport, Ainsworth, Hemingford, Burwell and Morrill.
