Graduation ceremonies for the 54th Basic Recruit Class of the Nebraska State Patrol were held in Lincoln April 26.
Among the group of 17 new recruits is Bryan Walter, a native of Chambers who has been assigned to Imperial as his duty station.
He will join Trooper Dan Thompson of Imperial, making two state patrolmen again assigned to this community.  A spokesperson from the State Patrol office in North Platte said Trooper Walter will likely reside in Imperial.
The newly-badged officer will first undergo six months of on-the-job instruction with veteran troopers in the field, which will start this month.
The new class of State Troopers completed 24 weeks of training at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy in Grand Island, which involved 1,232 hours and 51 exams.
Trooper Walter is among 13 recruits assigned to the Traffic Services Division, while four were assigned to the Patrol’s Carrier Enforcement Division. Walter is pictured on far right, front row.
