Pollard chosen as May Senior of the month
Perkins County High School senior Shalee Pollard has been chosen as the senior of the month for May, 2012.
She is the daughter of Greg and Shelly Pollard of Grant.
Shalee has set and achieved many goals throughout her high school experience, in school, extracurricular activities and community projects.
She has been involved in volleyball, basketball and track; fall musical; National Honor Society and was a member of student council. She participated in FCCLA and Perkins County Youth Council.
She was selected as girls state representative, attended the 4-H Washington trip, was an academic letter winner and academic honor roll member; and a member of the National Art Honor Society.
In the community, she has volunteered for the library, after school program, swim team, volleyball camp, the food pantry, and preschool.
Her work history includes park and recreation concessions and lifeguarding, private water instruction, child care, and employment at Image Total Fitness.
Pollard has signed on to play basketball at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte this fall. She plans to major in elementary and special education.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Pollard’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
