Plainsmen relay teams capture gold at SPVA meet in Sutherland PDF Print E-mail

Two boys relay teams took top honors at the SPVA conference meet held in Sutherland on Saturday, with two individuals, Matthew Cullen and Elliot Carlson, taking first in three events. On the girls side, first place in shot put went to Shania Metcalf.
Due to rain, the meet which was originally scheduled for Friday  was postponed a day.
Perkins County boys placed  first in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Cullen took the gold in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, while Carlson won the long jump event.
The Plainsmen boys finished in third place against conference rivals St. Pat’s-first, Chase County-second, Hershey-fourth, Sutherland-fifth and Maxwell-sixth.
With 62 points, the girls division placed fifth against other conference teams.
