Gatlin Brothers to perform at State Fair PDF Print E-mail

Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers will be performing two free concerts for Older Nebraskan’s Day at the Nebraska State Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 29.  According to State Fair Director of Events and Entertainment, Chelsey Jungck, “The Gatlin’s perform at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. with wristbands first available at 8 a.m.”
Larry Gatlin alone had 42 songs on the charts between 1973 and 1990 including 17 Top 10 hits and the Grammy-winning “Broken Lady.”  He wrote every song himself–an achievement unmatched by any other artist in popular music.
“Larry and brothers Rudy and Steve have been singled out for their rich harmony and soul stirring music.  From “All the Gold in California,” to “I’ve Done Enough Dying Today” and “Talkin’ to the Moon,” Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers have left an indelible impression on the Nashville music scene,” she said.
Larry Gatlin has had success as an actor as well, performing in the Broadway production of The Will Rogers Follies where he earned critical accolades for the play’s nine-month run.  With long running stints in theatres in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Branson, MO., it has been an incredible multi-decade run for Larry, Rudy and Steve.
The Nebraska State Fair runs from Aug. 24 through Sept. 3 at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
