Metcalf is chosen April Senior of the Month PDF Print E-mail

Tanya Metcalf of Elsie has been selected as April’s Senior of the Month at Perkins County High School.
She is the daughter of Kelly and Brenda Metcalf.
Striving to take on the role as a leader in her school, Metcalf has participated in as many activities as possible throughout her high school career.
Her activities have included volleyball, basketball and track; band, drama and mock trial.
She is a member of National Honor Society.
In the community, Metcalf has participated in activities in Perkins County Youth Council, Bible school, FCCLA, has coached Little Kids basketball, volunteered at a bloodmobile, was a swim team volunteer, a Madrid Day volunteer, has cleaned the Grainton Church as a volunteer and has assisted in youth basketball camps.
She has been employed at the Hi-Line Coop and has done a work study at Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation.
Following graduation next month, Metcalf plans to attend Doane College in Crete, and major in English as a second language with a teaching emphasis, and play basketball.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Metcalf’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
