PC golfers fare well in April PDF Print E-mail

Chase County Invite
As a team, the Perkins County golfers took second place with 351 points behind Chase County with 339 during  the Chase County Invite held at the Enders Lake Golf Course on April 14.
Alex Johnson carded a 79 for second place behind Freddie Kasselman who placed first for Chase County.  
Fifth and sixth place went to Trevor Lee (88) and Austin Thelander (88). Other Perkins County golfers in the top 15 were: 11th Cole Whalen (96), 13th Jake Sexson (97).
Other schools competing were Chase County JV who finished third with a score of 401, McCook JV 402, and Ogallala JV 435.
Hershey Invite
At the Hershey Invite on April 12 in Sutherland, Perkins County placed second as a team with a score of 363.
Third place went to Cole Whalen individually with a score of 84 (42-42). Alex Johnston placed sixth (87), Austin Thelander 10th (92). Trevor Lee carded 100 and Caleb Breazeale scored 102.  
Taking home top honors was North Platte St. Pats’ golf team with 342. First place individually went to Mitch Fergusen of NPSP with a score of 80.
Perkins County’s JV golf scores were: Colton White 52-47, Jake Sexson 47-57, Sean Farnsworth 55-56, Chase Miyamoto 62-59 and Brennan Toner 52-49.
Other competing teams were from Hershey, Stapleton McPherson County, Sutherland, Sandhills/Thedford, and South Loup.
DCS Invitational
Perkins County competed in Benkelman on April 5 at the Dundy County Stratton Invitational Golf Tournament, with the Plainsmen golfers placing fourth overall in a field of nine teams with a score of 372.
Capturing the title was Medicine Valley with a score of 333 followed by Cambridge 364,  and Dundy County Stratton 371.         Other competing teams were Southwest 409, Cheylin 427, Chase County 439, Maywood 440, South Platte 458.
Individually, Alex Johnston (91) placed 10th. Placing 12th through 15th were Perkins County golfers Cole Whalen (92), Austin Thelander (94), Colton White (95) and Caleb Breazeale (95).
Brennan Toner placed third (51) among the JV golfers.
