SWNCBC offers purchase rehabilitation resale to first-time homebuyers
Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation (SWNCBC) has been funded for Purchase Rehabilitation Resale by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for a purchase, rehabilitation and resale housing program in the SWNCBC service area which includes the communities of Grant, Imperial and Wauneta.
This program will rehabilitate a home in the service area.
This program targets first-time homebuyers in these three communities. This program will serve those at or below 80 percent of the median income levels. For income limits call SWNCBC. A person who has not owned a home in three years or has experienced a life change such as divorce or widowed may qualify as a first-time homebuyer.
First-time homebuyers will be required to complete a REACH approved homebuyer education class, which SWNCBC offers, and qualify for a home loan from a local lender.
Potential participants should complete an application and turn it into SWNCBC for consideration. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come first served basis.
Upon approval, the participant will find a house and SWNCBC will determine the rehabilitation with a contractor and inspector. If in agreement, SWNCBC will purchase the home, complete the rehabilitation and sell the rehabbed home to the participant. SWNCBC can also provide up to $15,000 of down payment/closing cost assistance to the participants.
SWNCBC’s Purchase Rehab Resale program will benefit more than first-time homebuyers. It will boost the area economy. Local contractors and suppliers will also benefit from the program.
Applications can be obtained from SWNCBC. Those interested can also e-mail
and request an application or call 308-352-4338 for an application to be mailed.
