Coaches selected for All-Star Volleyball Game PDF Print E-mail

The volleyball coaches have been selected to lead the West and East teams for the 28th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. This year’s game will be played Saturday, June 2 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska’s Community College. Game time is 2 pm. MDT.
Veteran volleyball coach Craid Schadwinkle from Gering High School has been selected as the head coach for the west. This is Coach Schadwinkel’s second time coaching in the all-star game. He previously served as the assistant coach for the west in 1986.
Gering made it to the Class B state volleyball tournament this past season, losing to Elkhorn South in the first round. Gering finished the season with a 29-7 record.
Lacy Wurdeman from Sioux City High School has been chosen as the assistant coach for the west squad in this year’s game.
Leading the east volleyball team this year is Lynne Johnson from Brady High School. This past season Johnson led Brady to a record of 26-5 and a state volleyball appearance, losing to Howells in the semi-finals of the D-2 tournament.
This is Coach Johnson’s second appearance as a coach in the West Nebraska All Star Volleyball Game. She served as the assistant coach for the east in 2009.
Laura Miller from North Platte High School will serve as the assistant coach for the east squad.
A portion of the proceeds from the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game benefit local charities including the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center.
