Ashley Kemling, a senior at Perkins County High School, has been selected as November’s Senior of the Month.
She is the daughter of Troy and Jonette Kemling of Grant.
Kemling has been a participant in many activities while a student at PCHS.
She has been a member of cross country, basketball and track.
She has participated in band and drama.
She is a member of National Honor Society, and has held the class offices of secretary, treasurer, and vice president, as well as a member of student council; and has maintained a 4.0 average throughout high school.
Mock trial, speech, FFA and Fellowship of Christian Athletes are also activities Kemling has been active in. She is also a member of the Adrian Smith Youth Advisory Council.
In the community, Kemling has volunteered in Perkins County Youth Club activities, painting projects, vacation Bible school, junior golf, AWANA, food pantry collection, babysitting at church, landscaping project with FFA.
She has been employed by the City of Grant as a concession stand worker, and by her father and grandmother on the farm.
Following graduation, Kemling plans to attend a four-year college, either Nebraska Wesleyan or Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan., and is at this point considering majoring in either elementary education or pre-physical therapy.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Kemling’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
