With no unfinished business and only two items of new business, the Grant City Council had a short meeting Tuesday night, Nov. 8.
Following communications from City Superintendent Tyson McGreer, each council member was asked about their respective committee.
There was nothing to report by Kirk York who serves on the Parks and Rec. as well as Library committee, Tim Pofahl who is on the Public Works and Planning/Zoning committee, Wayne Pick who serves on the Grant City Park, Grant City Hall, Fairview Cemetery and Grant Tree Board, nor Bob Tatum who is on the Water/Environmental Committee, Economic Development Committee and Grant Municipal Airport Committee.
The water, lottery and sheriff’s reports were then presented to council.
Perkins County Sheriff Jim Brueggeman was present to deliver the sheriff’s report to council.
Financials were discussed and two items of new business were presented by Mayor Mike Wyatt.
In a 4-0 vote, council members rescinded a resolution on declaration of nuisance property in the 900 block of Sherman. The nuisance problem had been taken care of by the owner.
In the next item of business concerning West Central Development District nuisance abatement, City Superintendent McGreer reported that a representative from WCDD was to meet on Friday, Nov. 11 with the owner of property which has been declared a nuisance in the 700 block of Central Avenue to determine how to proceed with further cleanup.
In other action, council members unanimously approved a new maintenance agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads.
The next regular meeting of Grant City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22. The public is welcome to attend.
