High school all-state musicians selected PDF Print E-mail

Each year, over 2000 of the best high school musicians in the state audition for the Nebraska all-state band, chorus, jazz band and orchestra which are sponsored by the Nebraska Music Educators Association.
Selection as a member of one of these groups is one of the highest musical honors attainable in Nebraska.
Mr. Doran Johnson, chair of choral affairs for the Nebraska Music Educators Association is pleased to announce that Ethan Behrends, Emma Friedel, Alyssa Young, Tori Osler and Ashley Kemling will be among approximately 500 students selected to the 2011 All-State Chorus and Band.
Guest conductor for the chorus will be Dr. Eph Ehly, Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri Kansas City (retired).
Conducting the band will be Dr. Eugene Corporon, Regents of Music, University of North Texas.
The chorus and band will rehearse Wednesday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Nov. 18 on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, the host site of the 2011 NMEA conference/clinic.
The final public concert will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
Among the 93 students recognized for being selected in the choral or band ensemble for three years are Tori Osler and Ashley Kemling.
