Hunters should bring their fishing tackle along on their trips this month. Fall is the time fish are looking for all they can eat, making for some excellent cool-weather fishing. “There are still plenty of chances to catch trout, vertical-jig some walleyes and wipers or head up to the Missouri River in northeast Nebraska for a variety of species,” said Daryl Bauer, fisheries outreach program manager for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Bauer recommends fishing the warmer, sun-exposed northern bays and coves of water bodies to improve the odds for success.
