NPCC Theater Department to present Coward’s ‘Blithe Spirit’ Nov. 9-12 PDF Print E-mail

The North Platte Community College Theater Department will present “Blithe Spirit” by Noel Coward at 8 p.m. Nov. 9-12 at the McDonald-Belton Theater on the South Campus.
When the famous novelist Charles Condimine holds a séance to do research for his new book, he gets more than he bargains for. The mystic he employs, Madame Arcati, calls up the spirit of Charles’ ex-wife (who died seven years before) and the spirit, delighted to be with Charles again, decides to stay. This is upsetting to Charles, but more so to his current wife, Ruth. Soon the two women and the two worlds are both fighting over Charles. Exasperated, Charles calls back the medium to try and set things right and they only go more wrong.
“This play is one laugh after another,” said Ritch Galvan, NPCC theatre instructor. “It has been called a ‘fantastical farce’ and I find that to be a good description of what the audience can expect from the production.”
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens. MPCC students, faculty and staff admitted free with ID.
