Nebraska beats the nation in population growth.

According to Census Bureau numbers Nebraska’s population climbed to 1.83 million between July of 2009 and July of 2010.
That means the state grew at a faster rate than the overall U.S. population for that period. The national growth rate was 0.84 percent. Nebraska grew by nearly 1 full percentage point.
University of Nebraska at Omaha Census researcher David Drozd gave the obvious explanation. More people are moving to Nebraska than leaving. They are moving here for jobs, he said.
The nation’s overall growth put the American population at 309.35 million.
