Pastor Frank Johnson opens with a welcome message at 7 p.m. He will be followed by “Preparing the Heart and Mind for Prayer” with Pastor Ivy Joy Johnson. Anita Scarborough of Akron, Colo., will lead praise and worship.
Praise, worship and prayer teaching by Ms. Scarborough begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and continues until 3 p.m. Prayers of intercession, agreement and petition will be taught and practiced by those present.
Ms. Scarborough has a love for Christian education, music and counseling that has placed her in various ministry positions in churches including the Denver metro area, Woodland Park and Colorado Springs. Until recently, she was pastor of the church she grew up in.
As a therapist, Anita often says that her own therapy and emotional healing comes from playing and worshipping at the piano. “It’s a wonderful way to ‘get lost’ in the presence of the Lord,” she observed.
