World class boxing returning to Grand Island PDF Print E-mail

World Class Boxing will return to Grand Island on Oct. 15 as one professional fighter takes another step in his mission to become the Heavy Weight Champion of the world.
GI Family Radio Entertainment/Legacy Communications CEO Alan Usher announced recently that successful negotiations have culminated in making the announcement that World Class Boxing will return to the heartland on Oct. 15 featuring world renown Kimbo Slice as he fights for his shot to become the heavy weight Champion of the World.
Usher said “Our world title fight was so successful in February of this year….the sell out crowd and the energy in the arena was tremendous. So much so that we have been getting calls from fighters and promoters to host another event ever since. So when Kimbo’s camp called and wanted to make Grand Island, Neb. his spot to make a case for a heavy weight title fight we couldn’t pass it up.”
Kimbo Slice became a national fan favorite as web videos circulated of him in street fights. Later, he competed in professional MMA fights until now making his home in professional boxing.
In addition to the feature fight with Kimbo Slice, Usher said that there will be six other fights on the card including top ranked fighters in the world. These fighters will be announced soon.
Tickets are on sale now to enjoy this seven match boxing event, including the Kimbo Slice heavy weight fight and may be purchased at the Heartland Events Center box office, Fonner Park Business office, or via all Ticketmaster outlets.
