Hamilton wins second world foosball title PDF Print E-mail

Joe Hamilton returned to his home in Grant as a two-time world pro foosball champion, winning both the singles and doubles divisions at a competition held in Dallas early this month.
As Hamilton describes, there are six levels of expertise in foosball, starting with beginner, ascending to rookie, amateur, expert, pro and finally pro master. Hamilton ranks as a pro.
A pro tournament is open to anyone ranked pro or below.
For the singles title, Hamilton was matched against a player from St. Louis, Mo. In the doubles competition, he and his partner, Mario Iannuzzi from Toronto, played a team from Albany, N.Y. in the finals.
Hamilton received a trophy, jacket and brand new foosball table for winning the singles division in a field of 162 players; and $1000, a winners jacket and trophy for the doubles in a field of 95 teams.
Said Hamilton, “So I came back as a two-time world champion—which was sweet. I mean it wasn’t winning like how Charlie Sheen describes winning, but it was pretty bloody close!”
