Teen pageant contestants sought
Applications are now available for the fifth annual Miss Chadron/Miss Northwest Outstanding Teen Pageant, set for Saturday, Nov. 5. The teen pageant is open to all female Nebraska residents who are at least 13 years old (by Nov. 5) and no older than 17 and in 11th grade.
The Outstanding Teen Pageant is under the Nebraska Outstanding Teen Competition, which is held under the Miss America Organization. It is designed to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens.
Contestants will be judged based on interview, talent, sportswear, evening wear and on-stage question. There will also be a separate overall community service competition, audience choice award and Miss Congeniality voting that do not count in the overall scoring. A silent auction fund-raiser will also take place during the pageant.
The winners of the Miss Chadron and Miss Northwest Outstanding Teen titles will receive paid entrance to the state pageant, held in North Platte in June 2012, where they will compete for the title of Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen. The winner of the state pageant will compete for the title of America’s Outstanding Teen in August 2012.
This year’s outstanding teen pageant will be joined by the Miss Chadron/Northwest Pageant and both competitions will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Chadron High School auditorium.
