MPCC’s Rodeo Club to hold ‘Cowboy Scramble’ Sept. 23-24
The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Club will have a “Cowboy Scramble” fundraiser Sept. 23-24 at several locations in the North Platte area.
The event will kick off with a Calcutta at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 23, at The Canteen Bar & Grille, 2101 S. Jeffers. At 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, participants will tee off for nine holes of golf at Indian Meadows golf course.
The golf tournament will be followed by a trapshooting competition at the Sutherland Lion’s Club trap range. The afternoon will conclude with team roping at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
An awards banquet and live auction will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds ag building. Buckles will be awarded to the winning team.
The Cowboy Scramble is open to three member teams, with two members from each team competing in any one event. Team ropers will be required to head and heel two steers.
Sponsors for the event include MPCC, Lapp Ranch, Lincoln County Fair Board, Sutherland Lions Club, Canteen Bar & Grille, Indian Meadows Golf Course, Recognition Unlimited and Sandhills Catering.
Entry fee is $300 plus one live auction item. All proceeds will be used to support the MPCC Rodeo Club.
The public is invited to attend the Calcutta, Cowboy Scramble and the awards banquet. Tickets are $20 per person.
Entry forms can be picked up and banquet tickets can be purchased at Town and Country Western Wear, KJ’s Western Wear in Hershey, and NPCC’s North Campus Welcome Center.
