Red Hats travel to Sterling PDF Print E-mail

Eleven Perkins County Red Hats traveled to Sterling, Colo., on Aug. 18.  They first visited the Overland Trails museum that is near the rest stop there and very interesting.  There are 13 different buildings. One building is dedicated in memory of Dave Hamil who was a cattle feeder and a local congressman from Logan County.
They only had time to visit half of the museum but each building was unique and different; one part of the museum had old time wind chargers; each month they show a movie for children and go over the history of Logan County and what it means to be a part of this unique community.
The Red Hatters had lunch at the River City Grill where each ordered off the menu and each bite was a savory delight.
From the grill they went to Dolores Sexson’s nephew’s home where they were able to see miniature cattle and ponies.  Dolores’s nephew has a beautiful home and unfortunately they had a hail storm the day before which destroyed many beautiful flowers and plants.
The next meeting will be in North Platte.
