Pastor David Buss to speak at Trinity Lutheran’s 125th
By Jan Rahn
After months of planning, the celebration of Trinity Lutheran’s 125th anniversary is just about to come to fruition.
The small country church north of Grant has activities planned for Sunday, June 12 to commemorate the event.
On that Sunday, a special worship service is scheduled at 10 a.m.
Grant native Pastor David Buss will be the guest speaker for the morning worship, with a noon lunch and afternoon program to follow.
After serving as interim pastor at St. James Lutheran Church in Gonzales, La., since last August, Pastor Buss will be installed July 31 as senior pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge effective Aug. 1.
The son of Grant residents Mary and Norbert Buss is pleased to be able to return to his roots and deliver a message on this special occasion of the church.
The theme of the anniversary year comes from Psalm 145:3-4 “Great is the Lord...and one generation shall praise your works to another.”
Throughout the year leading up to the anniversary celebration, Trinity has been conducting various activities, including slide presentations and publication of an anniversary year calendar.
More details on the anniversary activities are available at the church website at www.trinityog.org or by contacting Lloyd or Becky Dahlkoetter at 308-352-2127.
