Discover the advantages of making homemade cheese and find out about the challenges and benefits of raising small livestock at a class Saturday, May 14, 1-4 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lewellen. Call (308)778-5586 for more information or to register for the class. There is a minimal fee. Discussion will be held on the ins and outs of keeping goats, and providing local resources for those interested in acquiring rather than raising local meat and dairy.
Anyone who is a local meat or dairy producer may be added to the local producers list by calling the number above prior to the class.
Participants will get an opportunity to observe and assist with a hands-on cheese making demonstration, and will leave with resources and recipes.
