Zac White, a senior at Perkins County High School, has been selected as April 2011 Senior of the Month.
White has been very active in scholastics and extracurricular activities throughout his high school career.
He has been a member of National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, FCCLA and FCA.
He played football, participated in cross country, basketball and golf.
He was a member of jazz band, concert band, pep band and marching band.
He has held the class offices of secretary and treasurer, and was on student council.
In community service, White has helped with ball field cleanup, church conference, building the Grant E Free Church youth building, has been a Sunday School activities leader, collected food for the food pantry and has volunteered at bloodmobiles.
Active in the Grant Evangelical Free Church and youth group, White has participated in the church’s Easter cantata, and has been on mission trips in Jamaica, ministering to children through Bible quizzing.
White has been employed at Gaston Construction and Malmkar Farms during the summers.
After graduation, White plans to attend college at either Chadron or Tabor College in Kansas, majoring in education, and eventually become a math teacher. He hopes to return to Perkins County after college.
For being selected Senior of the Month, White’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and he will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
