Blake Edwards, former Keith County attorney, has been bound over to district court forĀ  alleged felony theft.
Keith County Judge James Worden said at a preliminary hearing in March there was a pattern of unaccounted expenditures established from the diversion program fund which the defendant oversaw while serving as county attorney.
An investigationĀ  by the Nebraska State Patrol established that between March 2007 and January 2009 Edwards is alleged to have spent thousands of dollars on unauthorized purchases.
Edwards and his wife, Shirley, who worked in the office, were charged with the alleged theft during the time he served as county attorney.
Charges against his wife were dismissed at a preliminary hearing on March 28.
