Summer nature camps scheduled at Wildcat Hills PDF Print E-mail

Children are invited to participate in a variety of nature encounters in the Wildcat Hills of western Nebraska south of Gering.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is sponsoring four camps for children pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade. Children will learn about the natural world at Wildcats Hills through nature hikes, journaling and hands-on activities.
The camps are:
• Creepy Crawlies, for pre-kindergarten children ages 3-5 accompanied by a parent or guardian, is June 1 from 9-11:30 a.m.
• Little Bobcats, for students who just completed kindergarten and first grade, is June 7-8 from 9-11:30 a.m.    • Wildcat Explorers, for students who just finished the second and third grades, is June 14-16 from 9 a.m.-noon.
• Trees of Nebraska, for students who just finished the fourth through sixth grades, is June 28-30 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Advance registration and payment are required and some camps have enrollment limits. Registration forms are available at the nature center, located south of Gering.
