Brain injury conference is May 19-20
The 5th annual conference focusing on brain injury will be held May 19-20 in Kearney.
Highlights of the conference include Jason Crigler and his sister, Marjorie Crigler, who will explain how family involvement made a difference in Jason’s recovery after he experienced a brain hemorrhage in 2004.
Marjorie will speak from the family’s viewpoint while Jason will offer a survivor’s perspective on the challenges of his recovery.
They will open the conference May 19 at 1:30 p.m., presenting the keynote address, Defying the Odds.
The conference, Spring Into Action, is sponsored by the Nebraska Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council and the Brain Injury Association of Nebraska in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Education, Vocational Rehabilitation.
Information on brain injury will be presented at breakout sessions including topics such as assistive technology, vision deficits and the shaken baby syndrome.
An exhibit hall will provide additional information and opportunities for those attending the conference to network with individuals from across the state.
