Six days past his due date and 10 days past the New Year, little Colton Reid Friesen made his appearance into the world.
Krystal and Stacy Friesen of Grant are proud parents of a new son who joins three siblings.
Born on Jan. 10, 2011 at 10:40 p.m., Colton weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches in length.
For being the first 2011 baby born at Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant, Neb., he and his family will receive several gifts or gift certificates from local businesses.
Father Stacy farms near Grant. Mother Krystal will stay at home with their new baby and his brothers Alex, eight, Kyler, six, and sister Chelsa, two.
Grandparents of the New Year Baby are Garold and Nancy Peaster of Madrid, Neb., and Weston and Linda Friesen of Ogallala, Neb.
Great-grandparents are Edwin and Loretta Dyck of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
