Superintendent Report

Information presented by Superintendent Tobin Buchanan included upcoming conferences, some building and grounds updates, various legislative issues, and some educational program information.

Buchanan said the next board meeting scheduled for the first part of February will include some in-depth discussion and decision making on the Limited English Proficiency Program beginning, and also the possibility of beginning an early childhood program in the fall.

Work has begun at the high school to install a new heating/ventilation/air conditioning system.

Installation is underway in some of the classrooms by Siemens of Kearney, with workers in the building from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., said Buchanan.

The elementary building was updated with a new boiler and air conditioning prior to the beginning of school last fall.
