|Wallace enjoys evening of music, entertainment|
An evening of musical enjoyment was had by all who attended the Wallace Christmas program the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The program began with the sixth grade band playing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” “Away In A Manger,” and Good King Wenceslas.”
The junior high choir was the next group to perform. They sang “The First Noel/Pachelbel’s Canon,” while director LaDonna Swedberg and John Paul Lempke accompanied them on the piano. Their next selection, “Masters In the Hall” featured soloist Jeff Harms. They finished with “Holy Child.”
The senior high choir was the next group on the risers. They sang “Christmas Is,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Bell Carol of the Kings,” Christmas Pops Trio,” and “Way Down in Bethlehem.”
Then it was time for the Wallace Elementary musical, “Santa’s Holiday Hoedown,” a Christmas Jamboree by Roger Emerson and John Jacabson, and orchestrated by John Higgins. Kindergarten through fifth grade provided the choir. The sixth grade provided the actors.
The performances ended with the junior-senior high band playing “Sleigh Ride,” and “Oh, Holy Night.”
The night was capped off with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus who greeted the children as they crossed the stage. The children had the opportunity to give Santa their Christmas wish list. Mrs. Claus handed each child a bag of treats when they finished visiting with Santa.
