Funds for bone density machine reach $10,000 PDF Print E-mail

On Sept. 1 the PCHS Foundation initiated a project to raise $44,900 to purchase a new hospital bone density machine.

By Dec. 15, the foundation had received over $10,000. PCHSF administrator Ron Patrick was recently advised of a $1,500 grant —an award from the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation of North Platte.

Patrick says that this is not the first support received from the North Platte organization. Since January 1989, it has granted a total of $14,687.78 to our local health foundation.

The funding has supported the acquisition of several items: x-ray equipment, nursing scholarships, CT scanner, teleradiology equipment, hospital clinic expansion, and ultra sound equipment.

In addition to the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation funding, 37 other donors have contributed to the project. The Foundation Board plans to complete the fund-raiser by year-end, even though there are several thousands of dollars needed to do so.

“People have been very supportive to local healthcare in the past,” says Patrick, “and we believe that they will again help complete this cause.”

Anyone wishing to help with the bone density project may contact the Foundation Office at the PCHS Hospital.
