|Winner’s prize doubles at first Chamber draw|
By Jan Rahn
Despite the chill in the air, several hopefuls gathered outside Hatch’s Saturday morning for the season’s first Chamber Greenbacks Drawing.
Only one of the winners whose name was drawn was present. Harvey Lovenburg went home $100 richer.
Members representing Chamber drew five names of shoppers who had registered at participating businesses since the Christmas kickoff on Nov. 18.
Saturday was the first of three drawings during the month of December to award five $50 and one $250 winner two of the designated Saturdays, with the final drawing picking five $50 winners plus a $500 winner.
Those who enter the drawing have a chance at the Greenbacks and do not need to be present to win—however, if they are, the winnings double.
The tickets accumulate from week to week, which provides an even greater chance of winning.
Those not present Saturday whose names were drawn as $50 winners included Tim Hendricks, Taffy Hastings, Andrea Brueggeman and Sherryl Williams. Picked as the $250 winner was Jill Hanson.
On Dec. 11 at Hatch’s parking lot, five more $50 winners and one $250 winner will be selected.
The final drawing on Dec. 18 will award five recipients with $50 and one lucky winner will be chosen for the $500 prize.
Remember—winnings double if present.
