To prepare for the Nov. 2 general election, Secretary of State John Gale urged qualified Nebraska citizens to register to vote.
The National Association of Secretaries of State has designated September as National Voter Registration Month.
“Once you’re registered, it’s critical to take the next step and cast your vote in the November election,” Gale said.
The secretary of state’s website (www.sos.ne.gov) provides a voter registration form and a look-up tool that allows voters to verify their registration status.
Individuals also may register to vote in person at their county election office.
“Voting on a regular basis is part of being a good citizen,” Gale said.
People who have moved from one county to another county need to reregister to vote. In addition, people who have moved within the same county should update their registration.
