National Farmers Union (NFU) is pleased to welcome Laura Demmel to the Washington, D.C., office in the role of executive assistant.
Originally from Grant, Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a specialization in public policy.
Prior to joining NFU, Demmel was a legislative intern in Senator Ben Nelson’s office. She also volunteered in Brazil, teaching English in a Brazilian orphanage.
“With a background in agriculture and policy, we are pleased to have Laura join the NFU team,” said NFU President Roger Johnson. “She will play an integral role in our day-to-day operations.”
“I am excited to be a part of the NFU staff,” said Demmel. “I look forward to working with the members and other staff as we work for U.S. farmers and ranchers.”
