On Tuesday, Perkins County High School graduate Lesley Dudden of Venango was still viewing an encounter with President Barack Obama in June as “surreal.”

Dudden, a Nebraska Wesleyan University student, has returned from the G8 and G20 summits, which she attended as one of seven U.S. students on the junior delegation.

As an applicant to the G8 and G20 summits, Dudden said she didn’t seriously think she would be chosen.

She was spending the spring semester in Washington, D.C. doing a full time internship with the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.

“I can’t believe it happened,” said Dudden of her experience in being selected to the summits and ultimately meeting President Obama. “It was surreal.”

She was one of two U.S. students selected to meet the president.
