|PCHSF announces Vern and Jackie Rezac memorial scholarship|
The Jackie Rezac Memorial Scholarship fund for nurses, established in 2003 by Vern Rezac, husband of the late Jackie Rezac, has been renamed the Vern and Jackie Rezac Memorial Scholarship.
The fund will be held and administered by the Perkins County Health Services Foundation. This will make possible annual scholarships of $250 each.
The award will be made to qualifying nursing students who have completed at least one year of registered nursing (RN) school.
This scholarship is now available for 2010. Qualifications include persons of good moral character. Grades will be a consideration, however, financial need is a higher priority.
Anyone interested in the scholarship may send a letter to the Foundation Board of Directors (c/o Ron Patrick) indicating personal history, educational and personal goals, motivation to succeed, etc. Requests will be accepted at any time of the year.
Jackie was the director of nursing at the Perkins County Hospital for several years and was a nurse at the Perkins County Hospital for over 30 years.
She was a hard working nurse who expressed gentle care for her patients and her fellow nurses.
Her husband, Vern, was a supporter of health services in the county and felt strongly about establishing a scholarship in her memory.
It was renamed by the Rezac sons after Vern’s passing, in recognition of his care for and support of quality health care.
