|Grief share group offered at United Methodist Church|
Christ, who walked the dusty road with the grieving travelers to Emmaus, wants to walk the road with others as they process the grief felt at the loss of a loved one.
The Health Ministry Committee of the Grant United Methodist Church is planning a series of six sessions of grief care. These meetings are an opportunity to share with others who are dealing with the pain of loss and grief.
Here, the “why” questions can be asked. Here, too, they can share with others the memories held dear, and to ponder the “now what” of moving on. Tears will flow as remembrances are spoken aloud, because everyone knows that is part of the grieving process. A burden shared often is a burden lightened.
The first meeting of the grief share group will be held Thursday, May 6 in the United Methodist Fellowship Hall at 5 p.m. At this time the decision will be made by the attendees as to the dates and starting time of the remaining sessions. Anyone who is struggling with loss of someone close to them is welcome. Those who would like to be part of the grief care group may call the church office at 308-352-4594.
Registration is encouraged, but not mandatory. Anyone with questions may call Ann Regier at 308-326-4346.
