C-arm priceless during surgery at PCHS PDF Print E-mail

The new C-arm x-ray machine is in place and being utilized at Perkins County Health Services. General surgeon James Schiefen, M.D. pauses for a photo along with Pam Holm, hospital administrator, just before going into surgery with the machine which provides him with internal images of his patients throughout surgery. “It’s almost impossible to do what I do without it anymore,” said Schiefen, also emphasizing its importance for orthopedic surgery performed by Dr. Mark Meyer from the Kearney Bone and Joint Clinic. The $134,000 C-arm x-ray machine was purchased with $50,000 from the Perkins County Health Services Foundation and the rest from budgeted funds.
