.By Jan Goff
The first baby of 2009 greeted the world last week at Perkins County Hospital in Grant, Neb.
Jacob Corbin Feuerborn entered at 8:27 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8.
The newborn son of Lindsey and Jon Feuerborn of Grant weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces, and was measured at 19 1/2 inches long.
Attending physicians were Drs. Paul Bottom and Ruth Demmel.
The family was able to spend some quality time together, as the proud dad was taking time off work from Standard Ethanol in Madrid to enjoy his new son.
“I saved up my vacation for this!” said Jon Feuerborn (pronounced Foyer-born).
The baby’s mother, Lindsey, is a stay-at-home mom who can enjoy his infancy while recovering from a caesarian section. The baby was scheduled for the procedure next week, Jan. 20.
“He had different ideas,” said the new daddy.
Eagerly awaiting their baby brother’s arrival home were big brother Kyle, six years old, and three-year-old sister Olivia.
Grandparents of Jacob are Bill and Barb McNerney of Grant, and Marne and Denise Feuerborn of Sidney, Neb. Great-grandparents include Bill Colwell of Missouri and Jim and Luana Curry of Arizona.
