| Fire damages Lions shack at fairgrounds |

By Jan Rahn Managing Editor It’s still up in the air whether money will be invested into fixing up the Lions Club shack at the fairgrounds following a fire at the site on Thursday, April 1. According to Lions President Leland Thomas, it would be expensive to fix the building, yet the food served by the Lions during the Perkins County Fair each year is their biggest fundraiser. Although the fire, which is believed to be from a discarded cigarette, caused damage to a wall and burned through a floor joist, the equipment inside such as the hamburger grill and a couple of refrigerators are okay, said Thomas.
