Ready to renovate your bathroom?  Looking for a new knitting pattern?

Hastings Memorial Library is trying out some online databases and wants you to take a look.

Through the end of March, the library will be testing out five databases on a trial basis.

They include the following: Small Engine Repair Reference Center; NoveList Plus (a searchable guide on what to read next); Home Improvement Reference Center (containing do-it-yourself ideas, plans, and blueprints); Auto Repair Reference Center, and Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center (with craft ideas, patterns, and more).

Each database includes full-text magazine articles and books as well as videos you can watch instantly on your computer. It’s like having a digital library at your fingertips.

If one or more of the databases prove to be popular, the library may add them as a permanent part of the library’s collection.

The best part is that you can even access the databases from the comfort of your own home!  Just visit the library’s website at www, or find us under Community Links on the City of Grant’s main webpage at

On the library’s webpage, there will be a link that will take you to the databases along with login and password information.  Of course, you can also come in and access the databases on any of the computers in the library.

Hastings Memorial Library in Grant has a wide range of books, audiobooks, and videos available for all ages.  We also offer free internet access and Wi-Fi capability.

For questions about the databases or any other library services, please contact the library at (308) 352-4894 or stop by and visit us at 505 Central Avenue in Grant.  You can also find us on the web at
