LINCOLN (AP) — Attorney General Jon Bruning is warning Nebraskans to watch out for fake prize letters that may appear to be from a state agency. He says in the past month, several people have received letters that claim they’ve won a prize from the state’s Commissioners of Registration. To claim their prize, they’re told to sign the form and return it along with a payment of $20. He says the mailings look official and include a fake agency seal, but he’s calling it a scam. He says there’s no state agency called the Commissioners of Registration. Those who receive such a notice are urged to call his office at 800-727-6432 |
