Perkins County FCCLA to help “bag hunger” with food drive PDF Print E-mail

In an effort to raise awareness in the ongoing issues of hunger, the Perkins County FCCLA Chapter (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) wants to engage the community in a local food drive.
Our goal is to collect 100 bags of food to send to the Perkins County Food Pantry.
In conjuction with the FCCLA Food Drive Perkins County School staff has been collecting items for the food pantry in each buildings teacher’s work area during the month of October.  All items will be taken to the food pantry the first week of November.
FCCLA will be having a regular chapter meeting Monday, Oct. 26 at  6:30 p.m. After the meeting the chapter will be going around Grant door-to-door asking for donations.         They have a limited amount of time to be out due to activity practices.
If they do not reach a house by 8 p.m. and occupants would like to donate, please bring or send any donations to the high school’s main office by Friday, Oct. 30.
Items such as canned food, bread, cereal, rice, pasta, cleaning supplies, personal (toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash, toiletries, etc.), and domestic (dish soap, laundry soap, etc.) are acceptable. Money may be donated instead of food but the organization would prefer checks instead of cash. Checks may be made to the Perkins County Food Pantry.
The community’s support is appreciated.
