Tony Kempf took over as the new owner of Deaver Computer Service on Monday, July 14.
Kempf, from Cheyenne, Wyo., spent his career managing restaurants and as a foreman of a roofing crew.
His brother, David, moved to Grant for a job and liked the community. Kempf began investigating re-locating to Grant and found out Bernie Deaver, owner of Deaver Computer Service, was looking for a buyer for the business.
“It looked like a good proposition, so here I am,” Kempf said.
Thus far the transition has been good and Kempf has enjoyed his time in Grant.
Longtime employee Aaron Turner, information technology professional, is still on staff and ready to serve customers. A new addition to the staff is Joe Hubbard.
Hubbard, also an IT professional, is moving to Grant soon from the Houston, Texas area, along with wife, Sonseria.
It will be Hubbard’s expertise and experience, coupled with Turner’s, that is a cornerstone of the new direction for Deaver Computer Service.
Hubbard has 17 years of corporate IT experience.
“I’m bringing 16 years of management experience,” Kempf said.
The business will soon be offering data recovery and on-site information storage as well as website construction using cutting-edge technology and server environments.
“There are so many things we will be bringing in not offered now, if I told you all of them you’d be writing all day,” Hubbard said.
The business will also begin carrying home theaters and televisions.
House visits will also be available with Hubbard on-call for business clients 24-hours a day.
The hours of the business will remain the same, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Sonseria Hubbard is pre-med in pediatrics and the couple has one daughter, Catlina, 6.
Kempf has three nieces, Hannah, 11; Ashley, 15 and Lillian, 16, who also live in Grant.
