Donation from church helps PCHS purchase Physiogait Body Weight supported gait trainer

The Perkins County Health Services Foundation received a donation from the Madrid Methodist Church. With this generous donation PCHS purchased a Physiogait Body Weight supported gait trainer for the Rehabilitation Team. This piece of equipment allows the Rehabilitation department to work with a variety of patients who are limited in their walking capacity. It is very beneficial in post-stroke rehab as it unweights the patient allowing them to move their affected side better against gravity. Ben Holmstedt, director of the PCHS Rehabilitation Team, said, “This also allows us to safely perform gait training by reducing risk of injury to both patient and the treating therapist as the patient is harnessed to the gait trainer preventing any falls. We have utilized the gait trainer in both the inpatient and outpatient setting thus far and excited to have this piece of equipment at our disposal. On behalf of our team, I would like to thank you for your generous donation.” Pictured above are, Front row, l-r: PCHS Foundation Administrator Jane Hagan, Karen Fuller and Denise Lee from the Madrid Methodist Church.
